Japanese-affiliated company in Taiwan acknowledges infringement of Nichia patent, and halts sales
Recently, Nichia Corporation demanded that a Japanese-affiliated company in Taiwan halts marketing its LED-application products, which Nichia had determined that the products use white LED made in Taiwan, which is covered by Nichia?fs patented technology.
This company in Taiwan acknowledged the infringement, and agreed to stop marketing the infringing products and use white LED made by Nichia, instead of the infringing white LED made in Taiwan. The case didn?ft amount to a legal dispute and an early settlement was reached, as the company in Taiwan promptly acknowledged infringement.
