NICHIA CORPORATION (NICHIA) announced today that it had reached a settlement with a amusement machine manufacturer, after discussing with the manufacturer the possible relevance between NICHIA’s patents and the white LEDs made in Korea and installed in the amusement machines assembled by the manufacturer. The manufacturer and NICHIA have signed a contract in which the manufacturer agreed to stop using the LEDs made in Korea and instead to purchase LEDs from NICHIA.
